Minnie Hat

Crochet Minnie Mouse Hat

NOTE: My patterns are free and I would like them to stay that way. You are free to print them out and pass them around but please make sure my blog address is somewhere on the pattern (http://knotyournanascrochet.blogspot.co.nz/) so that people know where the pattern originated.

Please do not sell my patterns or say they are your own. You are free to do whatever you want with the finished item. If you are selling them online please link back the pattern and give me credit. I took the time to write this pattern out so the least you can do is take the small amount of time it takes to give me credit.

  1. This is awesome! I want to make it for a 6 month old though. If I used regular worsted weight yarn and another size hook, would this be closer to the size for a 6 month old? I also have baby weight yarn that might be better. Been away from crochet for awhile so excited about starting again.

    1. Hi there, if you wanted to make it for a 6 month old according to the head chart I use http://www.slugsontherefrigerator.com/home/2011/10/how-to-design-a-hat.html you would want to make the increase circle measure 4.5 inches in diameter and the height of the hat to be 5.5 inches.

I would do what you said and measure across the circle after round 5. If this measures 4.5 inches you will be good to go. You might need to add a few rows also to get the length. So I would add one more row of white and one of pink and see what that gets you.

I hope that makes sense and if you have time I suggest having a read of the link I posted above and also part two. This will help you a lot when it comes to adjusting hat sizes.

    1. Hi there, this is how I learned how to do a magic circle http://www.craftyminx.com/2011/10/crochet-school-lesson-16-working-in-the-round-1.html to make this for a 2-3 year old I would use this pattern for the base hat http://www.knotyournanascrochet.com/2013/01/valentines-puppy-hat_23.html and instead of adding earflaps I would do the last few rounds in sc. I hope this helps

    1. You will want to make your increase circle measure 5.5 inches in diameter, and the hat height 6.5 inches. So I would suggest doing the first 5.5 inches in white and then the last inch in pink. Hope this helps,

  4. Hi,
I just discovered you and all your treasures. Love it! Spotted the Minnie Mouse hat and must ask: How do you keep the ears up?
I crocheted a similar hat for my granddaughter a couple years ago (different site, different pattern) and gave up on it because the ears would not stand up. I gave it to my sister to unravel. She recycles yarn.
    Thank you! Love your site!
